As a Carrier Sales Representative, you will facilitate the achievement of business goals through strategic sales activities including: managing a freight portfolio from pickup to delivery, providing and negotiating freight rates, building carrier relationships, and leveraging knowledge of the industry to influence the decision-making process.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide and negotiate freight rates to motor carriers and the internal sales team to ensure maximum profitability
  • Coordinate available customer freight with available motor carrier equipment
  • Consistently provide service and support to motor carriers in an effort to build the business relationship
  • Collaborate with the Customer Sales team to streamline processes
  • Manage performance expectations through carrier account metrics
  • Communicate with motor carriers to schedule tracks and resolve issues
  • Verify all freight charges, confirm receipt of Bill of Lading, and resolve all payables discrepancy prior to final payment to motor carrier
  • Monitor Bill of Lading discrepancies to ensure proper return of commodity is arranged, as necessary

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Clear and confident communication
  • A minimum of two years experience in Third Party Logistics
  • Strong problem solving skills
  • Market knowledge
  • Ability to work in a team environment, while also delivering independent results
  • Strong ability to persuade, motivate, and influence others
  • Detail oriented and ability to multi-task
  • Results-driven
  • Flexible; able to change focus quickly to meet demands of market conditions and company needs
